Room 15 has gone crazy over Rectangular Arrays. We have made them out of bugs, butterflies and soccer balls. We have made them from marker dots and centimeter cubes. We have learned that:
All arrays have the same number of items in every row.
All arrays have the same number of items in every column.
When writing the number sentence of a rectangular array, you list the rows first.
Rectangular Arrays represent multiplication.
With all our hard work, most of us are ready to move on to the idea of factors and divisibility. We can hardly wait!!!
